>>2744039>On hard mode, during the end game in the everfall and BBI, you will be getting one shot until you are like level 100.
That's usually the level I wind up at on Hard Mode by the time I kill Grigori because of the ridiculous experience buff.
Even earlier I'm usually fine by level 40-50, and on HM that doesn't take much longer than the end of the Wyrmhunt quests.
It's the entire reason HM feels so poorly balanced.>My problem is more that the best curatives come from items, and you aren't even really limited on that front aside from weight.
That's kinda why I feel like playing a little kid is the real hard mode.
It cuts into your carrying capacity so much that you really have to be meticulous about what healing items you bring if you want to hold any loot, because you can't just hand out a bunch of stuff to your pawns without them wasting it all by the time you need it, unlike materials and gear.>What you said I basically agree with, anodyne spells are incredibly strong when you aren't getting oneshot. But past a certain point they are useless compared to items.
Just because the items are more potent doesn't make anodyne useless.
You're comparing limited consumables to a rapidly regenerating resource, they're always most effective together.
Granted, if you made some huge brick shithouse of an Arisen that can carry a truckload of brews and tonics like it's nothing, I can understand the perspective.
It may feel a bit different if you're playing a smaller character with half the capacity.
