I used LXDE from 2012 to 2019 (When Lubuntu dropped LXDE for LXQT)
I looked for other DEs with a classic windows'esc start menu.
First i used Mint but got tired of cinnamons weird multiscreen bugs.
And Mate hade these extreme screen tearing.
All i wanted was a out of the box non autistic, working de.
And for some reason i didnt want to try Kde.
But my friend got me to try it and i really liked it!
I also checked some tests like link relatedhttps://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=ubuntu-2004-desktops&num=5
And KDE did really well overall. Budgie seems to always be on top but KDEs compositor is better from what ive heard.
It also uses some weird setup for multiscreens where it isolates the monitors
somehow. i dont know how it works but its supposed to help with multimonitor stability.
Classic start menu
One of the best compositors on X11 for avoiding screen tearing
Standard on a lot of distros
